If you’re nearsighted, distant objects are a blur while objects close to you are clear.
Nearsightedness often develops when children are school-age, affecting an estimated 9% of pre-teens and 30% of teens. More time spent indoors on close-up tasks –– think screentime of all sorts –– may be one reason why nearsightedness is increasing worldwide. And, surprisingly, time spent outdoors appears to lower risk.
